Sometimes it’s easy to forget that creatives are part of a large, diverse community. Especially as a freelancer, sometimes it seems like you’re on an island. That’s why something like CreativeMornings is so important.
Started in 2008 by Tina Roth Eisenberg, CreativeMornings began as a monthly breakfast and short talk in New York. She saw CreativeMornings as way for those in the creative community to have an ongoing, accessible dialogue, free of charge and open to all. The initial concept blossomed, and today CreativeMornings attendees gather in 137 cities around the world. With breakfast and coffee being a truly international event, volunteer hosts and their team members are responsible for planning and organizing each city’s event. Promoting and showcasing local creative talent as well as providing an open forum for creatives to connect and collaborate is the goal for each event. Each month provides an overarching theme, and it’s up to each host city and speaker to interpret that topic in their own way. It’s truly an experience in creative celebration.
Businesses and freelancers alike have definitely seen the benefit of CreativeMornings, as insight and current best practices are shared by experts giving voice to their experience, imparting lessons learned. Valuable connections are made throughout the creative community, with CEOs and students alike interacting and sharing. Whether part of a team or as an individual artist, CM provides a memorable sharing of information and ideas to digest and incorporate.
Since its inception, CreativeMornings has given a voluminous number of speeches. Thanks to the generosity of companies and individuals, accompanied by a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, each and every CM talk is archived on their website, creativemornings.com. This means creatives of all walks of life globally can access a wide array of diverse speakers presenting on a varied range of topics. This archive grows each month, as does their viewership and attendance.
Through the success and growth of CreativeMornings, one constant remains: the ability to remain completely free and open to the public. Generous venues and long-term partnerships have made hosting monthly events possible, so that creative artists can take part in the CM experience by simply registering to reserve their place at each function.
Local sponsors are also integral in making CreativeMornings possible, and Creatives On Call is honored to be a part of the CM team. COC have been a regular multi-market sponsor of CreativeMornings, with past involvement in the Cincinnati and St Louis area, and current sponsorship of events in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Citing refreshing content and an open-air freedom of collaboration, Creatives On Call is proud to be partnered with CreativeMornings and invite you to check their site (creativemornings.com) to find the monthly event nearest you.
